Busy Busy Bee //

2:21:00 PM
*insert That's so Raven vocal riff* Yup, that's me.
It's Sunday after what was quite possibly the longst week of my life. I am completely worn out and exhausted. It seems as though I can go months without having anything to do, then all of a sudden all activities are scheduled in a 6-day time period.
•Last Sunday, my family and I were in Maine, and I was so relaxed and happy to be spending time with those I love and remembering those we've lost.
•On Monday, we travelled home from Maine in a 4-hour long car ride. I did a lot of schoolwork and such, but I was able to ho to bed at a decent hour.
•Tuesday, I had a fashion show at the State House, which meant missing all my classes for the day. Following my return, I had rehearsal for Once Upon a Mattress til about 6 pm. I completed some work, and finished a project, causing me to be in bed at 11 pm.
•Wednesday, I had to sing at a community breakfast, making me miss my study period (meaning i had to do all work the prior night, and miss my chior class to makeup a history test) I had lots of makeup work, seeing  as I had missed classes on Tuesday. I had double the tests, double the homework, and double the amount of things to rehearse for the other show I'm in, Black Comedy. Basically, I was in bed at 1 am. (Plus I was already exhausted from the day before, so this was just bad)
•Then Thursday came, and it was hard to even keep my eyeballs open. I thought about taking a day off, but I realized that with the amount of things I have going on, I can't afford to just miss days. I had  classes all day, except period 10, in which I had to leave biology early to perform Once Upon a Mattress. Then I had to rehearse Black Comedy til about 7:15. Immediately after, I drove over to my sister's school to see her choir concert. She wanted milkshakes after, so her and I (being a good sister) went to Friendly's. I got home at about 8 pm, and proceeded to do homework til about 11:45 pm. (also, all day Thursday I thought it was Friday)
•Finally, Friday came. It was actually quite relaxing, because after school, I only had a 30 minute rehearsal (so that seniors could get to prom), and then ate Chipotle, and then went to my pal's house for her Sweet 16. Of course it was fun, but parties=getting home at 1 am. So naturally, I was exhausted when ai had to wake up at 8 am to work on...
•...Saturday. I woke up, and did stage makeup in the morning for my matineé show. I then babysat from 10-12:15 (with said makeup on), and immediately after, I performed Once Upon A Mattress, came home and began homeworking (because for some reason, I had quite a bit this weekend.) I stayed up til 11 by my own accord (wicked bad idea-- but obviously I had to watch Law & Order: SVU for like 3 hours.)
•Now it's Sunday, and I went out for breakfast early, then went to church, then went out flower/herb shopping, then took my cat for a walk outside, and am now here blogging. I know there's work to be done later, but I need a break to sit back and relax, look at all the new flowers & herbs, and listen to some Zeppelin on le record player. This week has been long, but I feel productive. It's worth it. Sometimes you need to feel the pain to also feelthe gain, ya know?
Anywho, thanks for listening to this rant, and if there's one thing to learn from this, kewp your head up and always focus on the positives. If you don't have to struggle, it's not even worth it. Life isn't going to be delivered to you on a silver platter, but it's too short to focus on the bad little things. Just focus on the beauty in situations. xoxo

What It's Like Being a Fashion Girl in High School //

10:32:00 PM
If you keep up with Cosmopolitan, you've probably learned what it's like to date a fashion girl, and chances are, you lovely reader may just be one of these fashionistas. It's ok-- I am too. Being into fashion while in high school can be tough, but overall it's just a lot of fun and a great way to express and love yourself. Here's the list of things that stand out to me the most being one of these girls. //

1. You most likely spend art class sketching fashion figures.

2. And if your high school offers it, you've probably signed up for the fashion classes (in which you obviously sketch fashion figures.)

3. While your friends are busy reading the newest YA novel, you're probably more interested in reading the latest issues of Vogue and MarieClaire.

4. And so your classmates probably think you can't read at all.

5. You know what its like to run up 4 flights of stairs in heels to get to class on time.

6. You're an instaholic. Face it. You love OOTDs, selfies, and dinner photos. You're on it during class, after school, and late at night. It's not a hobby-- it's a way of life.

8. Your top 3 college choices are most likely Parson's, FIT, or FIDM.

9. And it is your dream to be at New York Fashion Week.

10. You probably overuse the word "aesthetic."

11. Some people may think you're pretentious and annoying, and it can lower your self-esteem a lot. High school is brutal.

12. But then you realize you look hot as hell, and the dumb imbeciles of high school don't even matter.

13. Retail is your therapy (and also the reason why you're broke.)

14.  If it hasn't happened already, there will come a time in which you reference Beyoncé in literally every conversation because she is queen and slays the fashion game every time.

15. People often misinterpret the intention behind your outfit choices. You put on your clothes thinking about how good you'll look, but then you get to school and everyone assumes you're just trying to impress boys. #IDressForMyself

16. Ultimately, you are a strong ass woman, hell on heels, and have every intention of achieving your goals. You won't let anyone stand in your way, and no challenge is too large. Plus, you can do it all while wearing stilettos & carrying your designer bag.

A Day At The Zoo //

4:59:00 PM
So last week, I was able to do something that I haven't done in a very long time: I went to the zoo. And saw animals. And it was fun. Obviously I took many photographs of giraffes and elephants and other such things, so to see those, go stalk my instagram :) I also took pictures of myself because I guess I'm kinda a narcissistic asshole (oops). //
Anywho, since it was a Saturday and I was just going out with family, I wanted an outfit that was simple and had a natural/comfortable look to it. I went with a boho vibe (per usual), including pieces with varying patterns and colors. Converse, a patterned tank, high waisted shorts, and a geometric printed cardigan make this outfit both comfy & cute, perfect for a family outing to look at animals and plants and stuff. //

WHERE TO SHOP THIS LOOK:
Tank: Marshall's (probably around $17)
Cardigan: Khol's (I didn't pay that much for it ok)
Shorts: Forever 21 ($22.90)
Sneakers: Converse ($20-- wicked on sale)
Choker: Brandy Melville ($5)
Long Pendant: Forever 21 ($7.20)
Yin Yang Ring: Brandy Melville ($3)

70 Degrees Outfit //

9:34:00 PM

This week, the weather here has finally reached somewhere above 40-something degrees, and this is good because now I get to wear cute springtime-y dresses and things and it just makes me really happy to think about. So here is my vintage/hipster/Taylor Swift-esque OOTD. I had school today, so though I wanted to look cute, comfort was also a must. This look features a blue romper, grotesque coffee stained canvas shoes, plenty of bracelets, and adorable red heart shaped sunglasses. xx //
