Another Day in Paradise //

8:11:00 PM
Hello loves! For those of you who follow me on any form of social media, you've probably heard about/seen many photos of my journey. I am currently relaxing in the home of my maternal grandparents, which happens to be a quaint little house in the small town of Dexter, Maine. Despite it's small size, this town has so many hidden gems and beauties that can make for big adventures. Even though I still have a couple of days left here before returning home, a lot of wonderful things have occured that I feel I should share with you on this media form. //

A couple days ago, I went on a little hike in an area called Moxie Falls, which was about a two hour drive, with pit stops. We first stopped at a cute little bakery, where I got an apple popover and vanilla coffee for breakfast (I chose apple because, you know, autumn). Our second pit stop was to Subway, where we got sandwhiches and sodas and stuff to eat for lunch later. We put them in the cooler, and continued our journey to the falls. We arrived around 11, and headed onto the trail. My sister and I spent most of our time taking photos, and trying to notice the little details of the natural scene around us. Abby (who is absolutely amazing at photography),!took some wonderful shots of bugs, spiderwebs, and the centers of flowers. I, on the other hand, am an amateur photographer, but still ended up with some pretty cool photos.

My favorite part of Moxie Falls, and perhaps the most beautiful part, is the waterfall. I could've sat there, listening to the water rush downstream, hitting against the rocks as it fell and mindlessly lapping at itself, for hours (I couldn't though, because 9 year old cousin and your near-80 grammie, ya know).   //

Nature is beautiful, like, really really fucking amazing, so, we didn't want to return home immediately, so we stopped at a "scenic location" so Abby and I could take some portraits of one another in feilds of flowers, and eat our lunch. The perfect ending to a perfect day. //

Over the course of the next few days, we did some more local activities. We first saw a local band performing in the park. It wasn't anything much, but just a fun little activity to pass the time.

A cute lil boutique recently opened in downtown Dexter, so we went there and I bought some cute items. (Maybe I'll do a Maine Haul video... comment on this post if you want me to!) We basically just did a lot of shopping, and that's cool. //

Today is a lot less jam-packed; we've kinda just sat around all morning (though we may go on a "party boat" later. Basically, there are so many wonderful things you can fill your life with, and so many opportunities and adventures to seize. I encourage you to fill your life with what makes you happy, because you'll lead an existence that's a whole hell of a lot more meaningful.

Yoga & Yogurt//

10:07:00 PM
peace. calm. serenity. relaxation. self-love. a sense of "oneness." playing it by ear. listening to yourself. seeing where the day takes you. turning a day of no motivation and a lack of inspiration into a night of focus and hard work. //

This is, in simple words and phrases, how I would describe this Wednesday. First and foremost, I set my alarm for 6, but accidentally overslept til noon (oops). I then decided to make my bed, eat lunch, and get a coffee to kick start ny day. I was attempting to motivate myself to complete more of the history assignment looming over my head before school starts up again. //

Though my spirit was high and my body was ready, my mind had a very different idea of how the day would unfold. My wandering head made it incredibly difficult to just sit down and read, despite the facr that I knew I needed to. Instead, I spent the afternoon working on some sewing & designing projects.
Which, it turns out,
was not a bad thing.

I ended up getting a lot of work done, even though it was not in the area I had intended it to be. If I hadn't been listening to my mind today and cultivating the creative energies, I could have missed out on some pretty great moments of inspiration. I would have been forcing myself to do something when I knew and felt as though I should be taking adva tage of this sudden creative inspiration. I'm so so beyond glad I did this for myself.

Much to my happiness, listening to my body, mind, and spirit during the day led to more beautiful things in the evening. I went to a yoga session for the first time in literally over 6 months. I can't remember the last time I felt so still, and content with myself and my current life. The energy from the yogic meditation carries into the rest of my day, and even into tomorrow when I wake up. I feel at peace with myself, the Earth, and God. I feel okay for once.

And I guess thats my reason for writing this. I want to let you know that it's okay to have those "unmotivated," "sleep-in-til-noon" types of days. It's important to listen to all 3 elements of yourself (body, mind, and spirit) everyday, and to do what feels right to you. As I sit here in my bath of lush bathbombs and lavender candles, I wish you all the utmost love and positivity, wherever you may be. Life can be beautiful once you learn to take the time to focus on your lovely self. //

The Thrifted Dress //

4:15:00 PM
Hello all my lovely sunflowers! I hope you have all been well these last few weeks. As you probably have noticed, I have been rather inactive on this blog recently. It's not really for any deep reason, I've just been really busy with traveling/hosting guests that I haven't had much time to myself. (If you follow my instagram, you can take a look at some of things I've been doing!) Today was my first moment of real "rest." Since I've been so busy, this also means I have a lack of inspiration and ideas at the moment, so, I've decided to deliver another OOTD post to y'all. The main piece of this look is a dress from when my mom and I went thrift shopping last week. The dress itself is red and orange in color, and it has a paisley print, which to me resembles leaves. I paired it with a gold necklace and added some gold eyeshadow, as well as light pink ankle boots. I feel like the colors and patterns in this look create a very autumnal mood, which reflects the cool, crisp weather outside (I'm excited for fall-- can you tell?) It's a simple look, but very cute and classy nonetheless. Enjoy! .xx //

WHERE TO SHOP THIS LOOK:
Dress: thrifted (Finders Keepers) ($10)
Shoes: Charlotte Russe (on sale, $29.99)
Necklace: Topshop (on sale, $12)

the sun was in my eyes :/
